Aleksej Ivačič Kolar, who creates under the stage name PolarAce, is a young musician, singer and songwriter. His musical journey began in childhood, when he attended music school and learned to play the violin. He developed a true love for music later on, after an important life challenge, when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 14.
During this period, his life was also deeply marked by his dog Polaris, who showed him that life is worth living every day despite its challenges. It was Polaris who inspired him to write his first song, and since then Aleksej has seen music as a way to connect people and the world.
At the age of 15, he reached the final of Tour Music Fest with his song Home. Later, he began taking singing lessons and also started performing on the street. At 16, he took part in Slovenia’s Got Talent with Polaris, and later reached the final of EMA, Slovenia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with his song Kind.
After EMA, he also took on the role of presenter in the children’s programme Šnofki on RTV Slovenija. Aleksej continues to create, write songs and develop his singing and stage performance, as he wishes to speak to, connect and inspire audiences through music.
