The name BosaZnova is a play on the word bossa nova, a musical style born in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1950s. Poigranka can be taken literally, barefoot again, but under the veil of the obvious, Vanja and Matjaž take the name back to their youth, to a carefree time when we still curiously walked barefoot around the world.
Vanja comes from the jazz platoon, while Matjaž Romih has been a singer-songwriter and chansonnier (he also won the Slovenian Chanson Festival in 2005). The first song BosaZnova presented to the world was Marjetica. A song that is perfect for summer time, it describes those feelings of devotion and belonging to happiness and joy. Playfulness, softness, lightness and a respite from the daily frenzy just radiate from the song.
