Brkovi were formed in 2004. In 2013, a compilation album "Brkati gosti" was released, featuring Brkati songs performed by various artists from the Balkans. In 2016, they were awarded the Belgrade Radio 202 Performer of the Year Award.
They kicked off their "New (Un)normal" tour with a performance in Munich in spring 2022. Since then they have released 7 studio albums and played many concerts in the Balkans and Europe.
The band has created their own style, which they have called "PunkFolkWellness". The singer of the band Shamso69 (Vedran Pehar) is the author of most of the lyrics and music.
