Crvena Jabuka is a legendary rock band founded in 1985 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The original lineup included Dražen Ričl (vocals, guitar), Zlatko Arslanagić (guitar), Dražen Žerić (keyboards), Aljoša Buha (bass), and Darko Jelčić (drums). Their musical style blends elements of rock and pop, drawing inspiration from bands like The Beatles and local artists such as Indexi.
Their debut album, "Crvena Jabuka" (1986), was a major success across the former Yugoslavia. However, their career was marked by tragedy: in 1986, a car accident near Jablanica took the lives of Ričl and Buha. Despite this loss, the remaining members decided to continue, releasing the album "Za sve ove godine" in 1987 as a tribute to their fallen bandmates.
In the following years, albums like "Sanjati" (1988) and "Tamo gdje ljubav počinje" (1989) cemented their status as one of the most influential bands in the region. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, the band relocated its activities to Zagreb and Split in Croatia, where they continue to perform today. Their music remains popular across generations, as evidenced by numerous concerts and new album releases.
