The band, united by their passion for Slovenian folk music, is made up of six young men from the rural areas of Izola and Koper: Matic Ančimer, Jakob Burdych, Zmago Glavaš, Davorin Lovrečič, Simon Felda, and Nik Podbo.

All of them grew up listening to the songs of Ansambel Ottavio Brajko, who brought the melodies of folk music to our region, alongside the legendary Lojze Slak, Fantje z vseh vetrov, Beneški fantje, and other similar groups.

The Istrian Boys began their shared musical journey in 2022 and, a year later, courageously introduced themselves to the local audience at their first solo concert at the cooperative hall in Korte. It was a great honor for them to play for Ottavio Brajko during the awarding of the recognition as a distinguished citizen of the Korte local community, which further motivated them. Although they are well-known among locals, the boys aspire to reach a broader audience.

In the spring, they created their first original song, titled Na tej zemlji istrski ("On This Istrian Land"), written by Gregor Rožič and Zmago Glavaš, who also arranged the piece. At the 52nd Slovenian Folk Music Festival in Števerjan, held in July, they received the jury's award for the lyrics of this song, while the audience honored them with the award for the best performance of the Ansambel Lojze Slak song, Dan je pust. Considering this was their first competitive appearance, they are very proud of their achievement and promise to continue creating original music that will undoubtedly delight audiences in the future.

In case of bad weather, the programme will be cancelled.
