In November 2022, after a two-year legal battle with his record label, Dino Jelusić finally started recording new music with his new band Jelusick. Their debut album, Follow the Blind Man, was released in September 2023, winning the Porin award for Best Rock Album in Croatia and earning nominations for Album of the Year and Best Group Performance with Vocals.
Before that, he was known as the frontman of the hard rock band Animal Drive, which he founded in 2012, with its final lineup forming in 2015. Jelusić was the band's primary songwriter, and their music was heavily influenced by Whitesnake. Their live performances included a cover of Deep Purple’s Burn (Whitesnake’s 2004 version), along with songs by Skid Row and Dream Theater.
Before joining the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), Animal Drive caught the attention of Jeff Scott Soto, who recommended them to Frontiers Records. In 2017, they became the first Croatian rock band to sign with such a major label and release an album internationally. Their debut studio album, Bite!, came out in February 2018 and received critical acclaim. In April 2019, they released a covers EP, Back to the Roots, which featured songs like Monkey Business (Skid Row) and The Look (Roxette, featuring guest vocalist Rosa Laricchiuta).
After Animal Drive disbanded in 2021 due to conflicts with the label, Jelusić continued his musical journey.
He was first a backing vocalist and later the lead singer of Whitesnake, reaching new heights in his career when he became a Trans-Siberian Orchestra vocalist. He has also collaborated with hard rock and metal giants such as Stone Leaders, Lords of Black, and Whom Gods Destroy.
