After the success of The Worst Person in the World, Joachim Trier returns with an intimate and moving story about family, memory, and the unifying power of art. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes and nominated eight times for the Golden Globe.
Nora is an established theatre actress, while her younger sister Agnes has chosen a family life with her husband and son. Raised by their mother after the departure of their father, the renowned film director Gustav Borg, the sisters remain closely bonded despite their differences. When Gustav attempts to cast Nora in his new feature film—hoping it will mark his return to the cinematic spotlight—old wounds are reopened once again.
