Have you ever met a real dragon or fantasised about how to lure one with all sorts of tricks? The heroine Cecilia doesn't hesitate and sets off on an adventure as a fearless knight to confront and defeat the dragon.
Cecilia and the Dragon explores the roles of men and women in modern society through music and play. Inspired by the picture book by Lawrence Schimel (winner of the Golden Pear, a quality label for young people's literature), the performance breaks down stereotypical divisions between male and female roles in a direct and engaging way. Knights become knights, bloodthirsty dragons become blunt-headed lizards, and formerly helpless victims are now adventurous girls who try to meet dragons by any means necessary.
