The Tomi Purich BALKAN JAZZ Group performs a distinctive blend of ethno and jazz, combining elements from the Orient, the Balkans and Istria with original jazz improvisation and unusual rhythms. The repertoire includes original compositions, folk melodies and arrangements of popular songs. With the presentation of their third album, entitled PiranOhrid, the ensemble delves even deeper into the exploration of musical boundaries. On a conceptual level, the album brings together the temperament and warmth of the East with the structure and order of the West. The sounds of the Balkans and Istria merge with jazz form and rhythmic freedom in a unique fusion.
