Istrian cycling marathon 2026

The Istrian Cycling Marathon, the largest recreational cycling event in Istria, returns to Izola on 26 and 27 September 2026. The main event venue will be located on the paved area near the shipyard, while routes of varying lengths and difficulty levels will take cyclists through the picturesque countryside of Slovenian Istria.
The event is intended for experienced recreational cyclists, families and anyone wishing to discover Istria on two wheels. Participants will be able to choose from three routes designed for different fitness levels.
A varied programme for children
In addition to the traditional Kapko Mini Marathon for children up to the age of six, this year’s new feature will be a cycling skills competition for children aged between 7 and 12. Registration for both children’s events is already open, and places are limited.
The event will also feature the Istrian Market, offering local products, culinary specialities and services.
Registration for the Istrian Cycling Marathon is already open. Special packages combining accommodation and the marathon entry fee are also available to participants.
