Culinary Days of Young Olive Oil
Are you a fan of young olive oil – one of the most recognisable delicacies of Slovenian Istria?
You are warmly invited to the Culinary Days of Young Olive Oil, taking place from 15 to 31 January 2027.
Olive oil from Slovenian Istria is renowned for its exceptional quality and is considered a true culinary masterpiece of nature and the skill of local olive growers. It is produced from carefully harvested olives grown in the distinctive Istrian landscape, where a long tradition of olive growing, the expertise of producers and unique climatic conditions intertwine. Among the most characteristic varieties that give the oil its recognisable aroma and character are Istrska belica, Leccino, Buga and Maurino.
With its freshness, fruitiness and characteristic pleasant bitterness and spiciness, young olive oil perfectly complements many dishes – from simple local specialities to modern culinary interpretations. This richness of flavours will be at the centre of the Young Olive Oil Days of Slovenian Istria, taking place between 15 and 31 January 2027.
During this time, chefs in selected restaurants across Slovenian Istria will prepare special dishes and menus dedicated to this precious gift of the Istrian olive groves. Guests will be able to taste creative plates where young olive oil takes the leading role and highlights the authentic flavours of local ingredients.
The Young Olive Oil Days offer an opportunity to indulge in the aromas of freshly produced oil, discover new culinary combinations and get to know the rich olive-growing tradition of Slovenian Istria.
